Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 September 2026. This policy explains how Acadelyra, the independent Academic Writing Support brand and service available through Acadelyra.com, handles personal information. The service is for adults aged 18 and over.
Information we collect
We collect only information reasonably necessary to operate and protect the service:
- identity and contact details, such as your name and email address;
- enquiry and academic-service details, including your brief, deadline, academic level, and materials you choose to provide through an authorized service route;
- communications, quote, acceptance, adjustment, delivery, and service records;
- technical and security information, such as request metadata, access evidence, verification results, and audit or event records needed to secure the service.
Please do not provide passwords, institutional-account access, or sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.
Why we use information
We use information to review enquiries; communicate with you; prepare, offer, and manage quotes and agreed services; receive and protect materials accepted through an authorized service route; provide quality and revision support; prevent abuse and security incidents; maintain reliable records; and comply with legal obligations or protect rights. Depending on the context and applicable law, processing may be necessary for steps you request before a contract, performance of a service agreement, legitimate service and security interests, legal obligations, or consent where consent is required.
Confidentiality and limited access
We treat customer identity, enquiries, academic materials, communications, and quote and service information as confidential. Access is limited to people and providers who reasonably need it for an authorized service, quality, revision, security, support, or compliance purpose. We do not publicly disclose a customer's identity or work and do not sell personal information.
When information may be disclosed
We may disclose limited information to infrastructure, email, storage, security, and other service providers acting for Acadelyra; where reasonably necessary to provide or secure the service; to comply with law or a valid legal process; to establish, exercise, or defend rights; to protect customers, Acadelyra, or others from harm or abuse; or with your authorization. Providers receive only the information reasonably needed for their role and are expected to protect it.
International service and transfers
Acadelyra is operated from Kenya and serves customers internationally. Our technology providers may process information in other countries. Where required, we use contractual, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to those transfers, while recognizing that privacy laws and protections vary by location.
Supporting-file boundary
Where optional public-enquiry supporting-file intake is enabled, files are stored privately in quarantine and are not exposed through a public storage URL. Automated malware scanning does not exist at this stage. An authorized Admin may complete the defined manual endpoint-protection and review process before making a file available for operational use; that decision does not guarantee that a file is malware-free. Please do not include passwords, credentials, or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
Retention and deletion
Public enquiry records are eligible for cleanup 90 days after submission unless an authorized hold applies. File-bearing enquiries require coordinated private-object deletion before their parent record can be removed. Other service, quote, access, audit, and security records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for service delivery, security, disputes, recovery, and applicable legal obligations. Retention can differ where law or an approved legal, payment-dispute, security-incident, or operational-recovery hold requires it. You may make a privacy request through the official Acadelyra support route.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Rights can be limited where information must be retained for security, disputes, legal obligations, or the rights of others. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Adults only
Acadelyra is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a person under 18 has provided information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Changes and privacy assistance
We may update this policy by publishing a revised date. For a privacy request, complaint, or question, use the official support route for Acadelyra.com. We will review the request in light of the law that applies to the circumstances.
